Medications can help manage ADD symptoms: Medications are often used to treat ADHD and can help reduce symptoms such as impulsivity, hyperactivity, and inattention. There are two main types of medications used to treat ADHD: stimulants and non-stimulants. Stimulant medications are commonly prescribed:
Stimulant medications, such as Adderall and Ritalin, are often prescribed to treat ADHD. These medications work by increasing the levels of certain chemicals in the brain that help with attention and focus. Non-stimulant medications are also available:
Non-stimulant medications, such as Atomoxetine (Strattera) and Guanfacine (Intuniv), are also used to treat ADHD. These medications work differently than stimulants but can still help reduce symptoms. Medications may not be effective for everyone: While medications can be helpful for many people with ADHD, they may not work for everyone. It is important to work closely with a healthcare provider to determine the best treatment approach.
Therapy is another valuable resource in the treatment of A.D.D. and if therapy is needed we have developed very strong professional relationships with psychologists and therapist in the local community and will provide you with a referral if needed.
Medications may have side effects: Like all medications, ADHD medications can have side effects. Common side effects of stimulant medications may include loss of appetite, difficulty sleeping, and irritability. Non-stimulant medications may have different side effects.
Medications should be taken as prescribed: It is important to take ADHD medications as prescribed by a healthcare provider. Taking too much medication or taking it too frequently can be dangerous. Medications are not the only treatment option: While medications can be helpful for managing ADHD symptoms, they are not the only treatment option.
Other treatments, such as therapy and lifestyle changes, can also be effective in managing symptoms. It is important for patients to work closely with their healthcare provider to determine the best treatment approach for their individual needs.
For anxiety, depression, OCD and insomnia related to anxiety we offer custom evaluation and medication treatment plans for our patients.

We now offer insurance coverage (see above)
Here is our self pay payment fee schedule:
Pathway One (never diagnosed before with ADD):
Our initial fee for a comprehensive evaluation for ADD is $599.00 and payment is expected at the time of the appointment through the online secure patient portal. As a comparison, many large local psychiatry practices in the community on average charge the comprehensive evaluations over $4,000.00 and long wait times for appointments many over 6 months. Additionally, these practice are very broad in the treatment psychiatric services and do not focus exclusively on the evaluation and treatment of A.D.D. unlike the mission of our practice. With insurance pricing for the above are the associated cost with use of your insurance, simply check with your insurance company or check your insurance company's website.
Our goal is get you scheduled in a timely manner and if diagnosed, then treated with a quick turn around time from evaluation to treatment. Lastly, many therapist at the larger local psychiatry practice have the ability to evaluate, however they are not allowed to prescribe any prescription medication, which can create a significant delay in treatment A.D.D. and disrupt the continuity of care. At Carolina A.D.D. Center, P.L.L.C we are all inclusive with your provider taking the time to do a proper evaluation, diagnosis and if needed treatment of A.D.D. with prescription medications. This is what sets us apart from the other practice as well as having over twenty-four year medical practice experience.
Unlike many other huge online A.D. D. providers we are board certified by the North Carolina Medical Board and offer dedicated one on one care with the same provider to capture true continuity of care. Many of these rather large online A.D.D. provider's medication prescriptions will not be authorized or filled because it is an out of state provider.
Pathway Two (previously diagnosed before with ADD):
If you have been previously properly diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder by a psychiatrist (MD), psychiatric physician assistant (PA-C), psychiatric nurse practitioner (NP), psychologist or a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) we offer for our provider to independently review your medical records and documentation over one hour. Our initial fee for a comprehensive medical records review for ADD is $199.00 and payment is expected at the time of the appointment through the online secure patient portal.
This is a scheduled appointment for our provider to carefully and thoroughly review your medical records and the patient does not come into the office (or online) for this type of visit. Very importantly, we require a copy of your original diagnosis which needs to be done by a psychiatrist (MD), psychiatric physician assistant (PA-C), psychiatric nurse practitioner (NP), psychologist or a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). Additionally, we require a copy of the last twelve month of medical records from your last or current prescriber of ADD medications. All of these documents, can be uploaded to your secure online patient portal on the website after you have booked this appointment and are required to move forward. If for some reason, you have difficulty uploading your documentation in the secure patient portal, you can postal mail your records to our office and they need to arrive prior to your scheduled appointment.
After the comprehensive one hour review of your records by our provider, we notify you of our decision. If your previous diagnosis and documentation is in proper order, we will notify you are accepted and we will proceed to the monthly membership for medication management and writing of prescriptions. We reserve the right to not accept any patient based on previous diagnosis and medical documentation. Payment for Pathway Two is due at the time of the visit and is non-refundable. There is options if this occurs, most importantly we are happy to invite you to Pathway One where we ourselves can do a proper comprehensive evaluation (see below) with the goal is to move forward. Excellent news, the fee for Pathway Two is rolled into the fee of Pathway One. So in the words, the $199.00 will be subtracted from the fee for Pathway One (see above).
Monthly Membership For Ongoing Medication Management:
Our monthly membership for ongoing mediation management and treatment for ADD is $79.00 self pay payment needs to be set up as auto-pay each month in your secure online patient portal within the electronic medical records system. Very conveniently, this follow up can be set up in many different ways which best suits the needs for our patients and their busy lives from the most popular way via secure online patient portal communication (loved by our patients), telemedicine, video medicine and if needed in person office visits. With each new prescription sent to your pharmacy, the monthly medication charge will be sent to your card on file in your secure patient portal. We will discuss this in detail with you at your evaluation.
The need for monthly membership for ongoing management is the state North Carolina requirement to send in stimulant medications in 30-day increments.
